Today was my last full day in Thailand and I wanted to make the most of it. This morning, I woke up around 10 a.m. at my resort in Pattaya.
After walking my beach on the Gulf of Thailand, I came back to the hotel for some breakfast. It was a fantastic Thai and western continental breakfast. Then I checked out of Siam Bayshore and took the second bus back to Bangkok after missing the first bus of the morning.
Upon arrival at the airport in Bangkok, I left my luggage at left luggage before traveling into the city to tour Khao San Road for some shopping. Then I visited the Golden Mount, a Buddhist temple in central Bangkok covered in gold and overlooking the rest of the city. The views were spectacular! I met a Ukrainian girl and her Russian friends and we had dinner together. I was able to practice some of my very bad Russian, but they spoke English pretty well. I have met some interesting people during my travels and it’s probably one of favorite surprises and memories from all of my travels.
After dinner, I headed back via taxi towards the airport around 22:00 p.m. Upon arrival at the Silver Gold Garden Suvarnabhumi Airport off On-Nut Road (seriously, that is the name!), I took a shower and packed up for Tuesday. The hotel had air conditioning, a shower, minibar, satellite television and an airport transfer for only $20 a night! Try to beat that value in any major western city. I went to bed for the last time in Thailand around 23:30 p.m. I will never forget this amazing trip!
